KRG represented at Republican and Democratic National Conventions
Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – The Kurdistan Regional Government Representation in the United States sent representatives to both the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Cleveland, Ohio and the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Karwan Zebari, Director of Political and Diplomatic Affairs at the KRG Representation in Washington, traveled to Cleveland for the RNC from July 18-21. In addition to attending the meeting and selection of Donald Trump as the Republican Nominee for President, Mr Zebari joined a number of sideline meetings with distinguished Republican leaders.
The following week, KRG Representative to the United States Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman was in Philadelphia to watch the nomination of Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Nominee for President, the first time in American history a woman had been nominated for President by a major political party. Representative Abdul Rahman joined the convention as part of the National Democratic Institute’s International Leader Forum alongside numerous other foreign dignitaries.
